
The weekly average yield to maturity of the Bond Buyer Municipal Bond Index, which is based on 40 long-term bond prices, was up one basis point this week, at 5.13% for the week ending Jan. 9, compared with 5.14% last week.
The 20-Bond GO Index of 20-year general obligation yields fell seven basis points this week, to 4.68%. The index is at its lowest level since Nov. 26, 2013 (6 weeks ago), when it was 4.61%.
The 11-Bond GO Index of higher-grade 20-year GO yields also fell seven basis points this week, to 4.39%, which is its lowest level since Nov. 26, 2013 (6 weeks ago), when it was 4.32%.
The Bond Buyer's Revenue Bond Index, which measures 30-year revenue bond yields, slid five basis points this week, to 5.34%, after reaching a 134-week high of 5.40% in December.
The yield on the U.S. Treasury's 10-year note dropped three basis points this week to 2.96%, the lowest level in three weeks, when the yield was 2.94%.
The yield on the Treasury's 30-year bond lost five basis points this week, to 3.87%, the lowest it has been since Nov. 26 (6 weeks ago), when it was 3.80%.
