Assured hires Greg Larson as MD for public finance marketing

Assured Guaranty announced today that Gregory Larson has joined the company as managing director, public finance marketing, effective Nov. 30.

In his new role, Larson will focus on maintaining and building relationships with public finance professionals on sales, trading and syndicate desks, along with supporting Assured Guaranty’s investor outreach with institutional investors, banks and investment professionals. He reports to Christopher Chafizadeh, managing director.

“We’re looking forward to Greg contributing to the continued growth and success of Assured Guaranty,” said Chafizadeh. “Greg’s significant experience complements the wealth of industry knowledge already at our organization and will help us further build our market leadership.”

Larson has 35 years of experience in municipal sales and trading. Prior to joining Assured Guaranty, he spent 20 years with Goldman Sachs & Co., first as a senior trader and head of the municipal bond trading desk and later in a fixed income sales capacity.

“Greg’s strong relationships and years of experience in this market adds yet another dimension to our team,” said William O’Keefe, senior managing director. “We are committed to providing issuers and investors with the most creative and responsive service in our industry. Greg is tremendously qualified to help us achieve that goal.”

Previously, Larson was a senior municipal trader at Lehman Brothers, Inc., and a vice president at E.F. Hutton & Co., which later merged with Lehman Brothers. He holds a B.S. in Finance from Syracuse University.
