Private-sector employment increased by 147,000 in October, on a seasonally adjusted basis, ADP estimated Wednesday.
In September, ADP says 202,000 jobs were added, compared to its initial estimate of 154,000 new jobs.
Economists surveyed by IFR Markets estimated a 165,000 ADP job gain projection for October.
"Job growth remains strong although the pace of growth appears to be slowing," Mark Zandi, chief economist of Moody's Analytics, said in a release. "Behind the slowdown is businesses' difficulty filling open positions. However, there is some weakness in construction, education and mining."
