Private sector employment increased by 191,000 jobs from February to March, according to the March ADP National Employment Report.
ADP said the 191,000 jobs gain is slightly higher than the 12-month average.
"The job market is coming out from its deep winter slumber. Job gains are consistent with the pace prior to the brutal winter," Mark Zandi, chief economist of Moody's Analytics, said in a release. "The gains are broad based across industries and business size classes. Even better numbers are likely in coming months as the weather warms."
Economists polled by Thomson Reuters expected 193,000 jobs.
February private payrolls were adjusted up to 178,000 jobs added from the previously reported 139,000.
