BRADENTON, Fla. - Kutak Rock LLP has hired veteran bond attorney Thomas P. Lauth to join the firm's public finance practice in Atlanta.

Lauth, who has more than 27 years of experience as bond, disclosure and underwriters' counsel, previously worked at the firm as an associate from 1988 until 1993. His current title is of counsel.

David Amsden, vice chairman of the firm and managing partner of the Atlanta office, said Kutak Rock is pleased that Lauth has returned to work at the firm.

"I hated to see Tom leave in 1993, but have followed his career and watched him develop into one of the most respected public finance attorneys in Georgia," Amsden said. "Tom brings us a wealth of knowledge and not only will he help strengthen our presence in Georgia and the Southeast, but also will be a wonderful mentor to our younger attorneys."

Lauth has worked in many public finance sectors, including mass transit, airports, health care, senior living facilities, multifamily housing, water, sewer and solid waste facilities, education, sports, renewable energy and economic development projects.

Most recently he was a partner at Dentons US LLP, which merged with McKenna Long & Aldridge LLP in July 2015.

He received a bachelor's degree at the University of Notre Dame and a law degree at the University of Georgia School of Law.

Lauth is a member of the National Association of Bond Lawyers, where he has served as a panelist.

He also has spoken about public finance topics at events sponsored by the Georgia Charter Schools Association, the University of Georgia, and Georgia State University.

Kutak Rock ranked as the fifth top bond counsel in the country during the first half of 2016 working on 197 transactions valued at $6.14 billion, according to Thomson Reuters.

The firm's public finance group has more than 110 attorneys in 15 of its 18 offices.
