McGuireWoods Hires McNab in Chicago

CHICAGO - McGuire Woods LLP has hired Kay McNab, a municipal finance and bank lending legal specialist, for its Chicago office to bolster its Midwestern public finance and banking businesses.

McNab joined the Richmond, Virginia-based law firm recently as a partner. She most recently worked as a partner in Winston & Strawn LLP's Chicago office where she spent 14 years. She previously worked for 12 years at Hopkins & Sutter, joining in 1988 as an associate and leaving as a partner.

McNab has spent the last 25 years working on bank lending, public finance, private debt, and structured finance transactions, representing a range of clients from commercial and investment banks to placement agents, providers of credit enhancement and other financial institutions.

"Kay is a well-known player in municipal finance and bank lending whose addition strengthens the firm's national bank lending and underwriting practices, along with our presence in the Illinois public finance market," the firm's public finance chair, Alan Cason, said in a statement. "We are delighted she has chosen to join our team."

McNab joins a team of 40 professionals in the firm's national public finance group located in 10 of its offices.

The department is led by Cason who is based in Baltimore. The firm said it's always in the market to make strategic hirers and the addition of McNab was aimed at enhancing the firm's Midwest presence.

"I am very pleased to be joining the Chicago office of McGuireWoods …. I know that my clients will benefit greatly from the expanded capabilities and geographic breadth of the firm," McNab said in the statement.
