MMCT cited a recent study that estimated new casinos in New York and Massachusetts will hurt industry in Connecticut, with 9,300 people at risk of losing their jobs if no action is taken.
The RFP from the partnership seeks Hartford-area municipalities willing to host their new gambling venture.
Pearce Real Estate, a woman-owned North Haven, Conn., commercial real estate company, is administering the RFP. The deadline to submit proposals is 4 p.m. Nov. 6. A selection will be made by Dec. 15, according to a statement.
The RFP outlines clear parameters for municipalities, including the need for partners to commit to the protection and preservation of Connecticut jobs; to a sustainable, regional approach to development; and to leverage the gambling facility to create jobs and development opportunities for the region.
It also said bidders must understand that "the gaming market in New England is extremely competitive and that as a result sufficient public infrastructure, tax policies, and willing and well-trained workforces are essential to winning the regional battle for jobs and revenue."
