Milwaukee ISM Index Rises to 63.9 in July

The seasonally adjusted Milwaukee Report on Business gained to 63.9 in July from 60.6 in June, the Institute for Supply Management-Milwaukee reported Thursday.

New orders received rose to 76.6 from 60.3, production grew to 67.5 from 59.3, employment decreased to 56.7 from 60.5, supplier deliveries gained to 63.1 from 61.0, and backlog of orders dipped to 58.3 from 58.8.

Inventory levels slipped to 55.6 from 61.8, customers' inventories increased to 38.9 from 31.3, prices rose to 66.7 from 61.8, exports held at 53.9 and imports grew to 63.3 from 57.1.

The blue collar diffusion index dropped to 56.7 from 59.8, while the white collar diffusion index rose to 53.9 from 51.2.
