Employment Cost Index Rises 0.6% in Q2

WASHINGTON – The second quarter employment cost index rose 0.6%, as expected and unchanged from the previous quarter.

This put the year/year growth rate at 2.3%, compared with 1.9% in the previous quarter.

Details showed benefits up 0.5% in 2Q for a 2.0% year/year gain. Wages and salaries were up 0.6% from the previous quarter and 2.5% year/year.
