Air Agency Lands Lawyers

The board of the recently created Connecticut Airport Authority has hired Bridgeport law firm Pullman & Comley LLC as general counsel for one year.

The Hartford Courant reported that the politically connected firm’s proposal was $100,000 more than another finalist.

Other firms in the running for the contract were Updike, Kelly & Spellacy PC and Robinson & Cole LLP.

Pullman & Comley is the former law firm of Andrew McDonald, Connecticut Gov. Dannel Malloy’s general counsel.

It previously received the contract to negotiate the state’s deal with Jackson Laboratory.

The Courant has also reported that Pullman was named bond counsel for three cities — Middletown, Milford and New Britain — in which Malloy endorsed the Democratic candidates for mayor and after several of its attorneys donated to those candidates’ campaigns.
