Blaylock Robert Van Adds Chicago Banker

CHICAGO — Blaylock Robert Van LLC has hired veteran public finance banker Adrienne Archia to help bolster its Midwestern business.

Archia recently joined the firm as a senior vice president. She will cover the firm’s clients throughout the Midwest including Illinois, Chicago, and other large Chicago-area issuers whom she has long called on in her positions at other firms here.

Archia previously worked at Rice Financial Products Co. She left last year after four years leading the firm’s Midwestern efforts.

“Adrienne is well known and highly respected in the Midwest and having her on our team underscores our commitment to serving the region with a top tier team of public finance professionals,” Blaylock’s president Eric Van Standifer said in a statement Friday. “She has worked closely with numerous major issuers on a wide range of public financings and served as a financial adviser on some groundbreaking financings. We expect Adrienne to play a major role in the growth of our firm.”

Before Rice, Archia held public finance banking positions at the former First Albany Capital and Siebert Brandford Shank & Co. LLC, and the former RBC Dain Rauscher Inc. Before turning to public finance banking, Archia worked for five years for the city of Chicago in various capacities, including assistant to the chief financial officer and chief financial officer of the Chicago Housing Authority.

In another addition to the firm’s Chicago office, Amy Plyler Nunez joined the firm as a senior vice president in sales and trading. She most recently worked as a fixed-income trading consultant to Gofen & Glossberg and previously was a senior trader at Harris Private Bank.

Blaylock Robert Van is a full service, minority-owned investment bank based in Oakland, Cal. that was formed through the combination of two minority-owned firms — Robert Van Securities and Blaylock & Co. In addition to Chicago and Oakland, it has offices in Dallas, Los Angeles, Miami, New York City, and St. Louis.
