California Revenue Beats Projections

California general fund revenues in August came in $138 million above forecasts in the adopted state budget, leaving receipts $238 million below the forecast of $11.27 billion for the year to date, according to the state Department of Finance.

Wednesday’s report said personal income tax revenues flowing into the general fund were $220 million above the forecast of $3.420 billion.

The state’s sales and use tax receipts fell $94 million below the August forecast of $1.7 billion, and corporate tax revenue fell $123 million below the estimate of $143 million.
