ANCHORAGE — Maryland State Treasurer Nancy Kopp was awarded the 2012 Jesse Unruh Award for her outstanding service to her profession and her state.
Kopp received the award here on Monday at the National Association of State Treasurers' annual conference.
The award was presented by NAST president and Nevada State Treasurer Kate Marshall.
"This person is so important to part of the glue that makes this association," Marshall said.
Kopp, who chairs the NAST legislative committee, has been Maryland's treasurer since 2002 and served in the Maryland House of delegates for 27 years.
Unruh was a founding member of NAST and a former California State Treasurer.
