About 3,933,400 online job postings appeared on leading Internet job boards in October, a decrease of 13,600 from September, the Conference Board reported Monday.
“The good news is that labor demand did not deteriorate further in October, but at the same time we have no clear sign that demand is picking up,” said board vice president June Shelp.
In the past seven months, demand has fallen by 513,000, largely offsetting the 763,000 gain in early 2011. In this calendar year, the average monthly gain is about 25,000.
