K.C. Hotel Panel Meets

Kansas City’s convention hotel steering committee met Monday to review proposals from two developers and four hotel operators as part of the city’s effort to advance construction of a new hotel to support its convention center.

The committee is expected to make a recommendation to the City Council next year on a developer and hotel operator.

A financing plan has not been announced and city officials have not said how much public funding might be needed. Mayor Mark Funkhouser opposes the project.
