Meyers Nave Nabs H&K’s Taber

Meyers Nave, an Oakland-based firm that specializes in public law hired Stephen Taber to boost its public finance practice.

Taber has been a bond lawyer for more than three decades and was most recently a partner at Holland & Knight LLP, where he worked on both nonprofit and local government financings.

His recent deals include senior housing and school district refundings, as well as a lease financing for a public housing energy conservation project and a bond issue for the purchase of the Aquarium of the Bay in San Francisco.

Taber, who will be based in the firm’s San Francisco office, is the third addition to Meyers Nave’s public finance practice in the past year. Last year, it hired Edsell “Chip” Eady and Samuel Sperry.

The firm announced Taber’s hiring this week along with an affiliation agreement with public finance tax counsel Perry Israel, who is based in Sacramento.
