Treasury: U.S. Gov’t Ran $192.3B Deficit in March.

The federal government posted a $192.3 billion deficit in March, according to Treasury Department figures released Friday.

The March deficit followed an unrevised February deficit of $192.8 billion.

The government took in $128.96 billion in receipts, while spending $321.23 billion.

Receipts on personal income taxes totaled $41.227 billion, bringing the total to $429.701 billion in the current fiscal year. Corporate income tax receipts totaled $3.392 billion, bringing the year-to-date total to $56.236 billion.

For the fiscal year to date, the government is running a $956.801 billion deficit, compared to a $310.395 billion shortage at this point last year.
