OKC Rides Revenue Slide

Oklahoma City received $13.8 million of sales tax revenue in June, $1.2 million less than expected and 8.5% below the level received in June 2008. City officials said the year-to-year drop was the largest monthly decline over the last 12 months.

Sales tax revenue exceeded expectations throughout 2008, city officials said, but revenue began declining in January. Sales tax revenue in May was 10% lower than expected and 7% less than generated in May 2008.
