Budget Director Promoted

Gov. Matt Blunt earlier this month elevated state budget director Larry Schepker to serve as the commissioner of the Missouri Office of Administration following incumbent commissioner Mike Keathley’s death from cancer.

Schepker has held the title of budget director since February 2005. Keathley suffered from colon and lymphatic cancer. The Office of Administration includes the state’s budget division and its division of accounting, which manages state debt. A new budget director has not yet been named.

“Larry Schepker has been one of the keys over the past three years in answering my call to ensure that our state is in a strong financial position. I know his leadership at the Office of Administration will help ensure that our state will continue to thrive and that we have a state government that continues to operate efficiently and within its means,” Blunt said in a statement following Senate confirmation of the appointment earlier this month.
