The Treasury will auction $24 billion of 91-day bills and $23 billion of 182-day discount bills. The 91-day bills are dated July 31 and due Oct. 30, and the 182-day bills are dated July 31 and due Jan. 29, 2009.

Tuesday, July 29
Consumer confidence figures for July are released by the Conference Board.

The Treasury will auction $19 billion 1-year bills. The 52-week bills are dated July 31 and due July 30, 2009.

Wednesday, July 30
The Treasury announces 10-year note and 30-year bond auctions.

Thursday, July 31
Advance GDP figures for the second quarter are released by the Commerce Department.

Initial jobless claims for the week ending July 26 are announced by the Labor Department.

The employment cost index for the second quarter is released by the Labor Department.

Friday, August 1
Construction spending figures for June are released by the Commerce Department.

The employment report for July is released by the Labor Department.
