LOS ANGELES — The Los Angeles City Council April 29 approved the appointment of Sharon Tso to be the city's next legislative analyst.
Tso replaces Gerry Miller, who announced April 18 that he would be retiring after 30 years with the city.
Tso was nominated by City Council President Herb Wesson and Councilwoman Nury Martinez to replace Miller, according to Los Angeles Daily News report.
Tso, an executive officer in the department, would succeed her boss, Miller, who is retiring after nine years in the job.
She has worked for the city for 32 years; and more than 20 years in the legislative analyst's office.
Her duties include overseeing the council's review of the city budget.
She will be paid $283,466 annually when she begins her duties as legislative analyst on Aug. 29.
The analyst's office works closely with City Administrative Officer Miguel Santana's staff.
