Newly issued Treasury securities held in stripped form increased about $49 million in November to a total of $215.192 billion, the Bureau of the Public Debt reported Friday.
Through the Separate Trading of Registered Interest and Principal of Securities program, STRIPS, about $9.036 billion of Treasury securities were reconstituted in November, down about $7.527 billion from $16.563 billion in October.
Securities eligible for stripping totaled $11.287 trillion in October up about $126 billion from $11.160 trillion in October.
Some $11.071 trillion were held in unstripped form.
The STRIPS program allows investors to hold and trade the individual interest and principal components of eligible Treasury notes and bonds as separate securities.
