The Treasury Department Thursday auctioned $16 billion of 30-year bonds with a 3% coupon at a 3.092% high yield, a price of 98.209695.
The bid-to-cover ratio was 2.29.
Tenders at the high yield were allotted 85.89%.
The median yield was 3.045%. The low yield was 2.950%.
Tenders totaled $36,674,159,600 and the Treasury accepted $16,000,000,400 including $10,391,600 non-competitive.
The Fed banks also bought $21,351,600 for their own account in exchange for maturing securities.
The bonds dated Nov. 15, will mature Nov. 15, 2044.
