The Treasury Department Thursday auctioned $16 billion of 30-year bonds with a 2 7/8% coupon at a 2.880% high yield, a price of 99.899805.
The bid-to-cover ratio was 2.26.
Tenders at the high yield were allotted 71.47%.
The median yield was 2.810%. The low yield was 2.708%.
Tenders totaled $36,201,534,600 and the Treasury accepted $16,000,007,600 including $5,774,600 non-competitive.
The Fed banks also bought $321,640,200 for their own account in exchange for maturing securities.
The bonds dated Aug. 15, will mature Aug. 15, 2045.
