The Treasury will auction $29 billion of 91-day bills and $29 billion of 182-day discount bills. The 91-day bills are dated Oct. 7 and due Jan. 6, 2011. The 182-day bills are dated Oct. 7 and due April 7, 2011. Currently, there are $29.997 billion of 91-day bills and $25.999 billion of 182-day bills outstanding. 
Factory orders, shipment and inventory figures for August are released by the Commerce Department.
Pending home sales figures for August are released by the National Association of Realtors.

Thursday, October 7

Initial jobless claims for the week ending Oct. 2 are released by the Labor Department.
Consumer credit figures for August are released by the Treasury Department.

Friday, October 8

The employment situation for September is released by the Labor Department.
Wholesale trade figures for August are released by the Commerce Department.
