The Treasury will auction $31 billion of 91-day bills and $30 billion of 182-day discount bills. The 91-day bills are dated Aug. 20 and due Nov. 19, and the 182-day bills are dated Aug. 20 and due Feb. 18, 2010. Currently, there are $86 billion of 91-days outstanding and no 182-day bills.

Tuesday, August 18

Producer price figures for July are released by the Labor Department.

Housing starts and building permit figures are released by the Commerce Department.

Wednesday, August 19

No economic indicators

Thursday, August 20

Initial jobless claims for the week ending Aug. 15 are released by the Labor Department.

Leading economic indicators figures for July are released by the Conference Board.

Friday, August 21

Existing home sales figures for July are released by the National Association of Realtors.
