Monday, October 20
The Treasury will auction $25 billion of 91-day bills and $26 billion of 182-day discount bills. The 91-day bills are dated Oct. 23 and due Jan. 22, 2009. The 182-day bills are dated Oct. 23 and due April 23, 2009. The Treasury will also auction $35 billion of 225-day bills on Oct. 20. The bills are dated Oct. 22 and are due June 4, 2009.
Leading economic indicator figures for September are released by the Conference Board.

Tuesday, October 21
The Treasury will auction $21 billion of one-year bills. The 52-week bills are dated Oct. 23 and due Oct. 22, 2009.

Thursday, October 23
Initial jobless claims for the week ending Oct. 18 are released by the Labor Department.
The Treasury announces the auction of $36 billion of two-year notes and $26 billion of five-year notes.

Friday, October 24

Existing home sales figures for September are released by the National Association of Realtors.
