The Treasury will auction will auction $29 billion of 91-day bills and $29 billion of 182-day discount bills. The 91-day bills are dated Sept. 16 and due Dec. 16, and the 182-day bills are dated Sept. 16, and due March 17, 2011.
The federal budget statement for August is released by the Treasury Department.

Tuesday, September 14
Retail sales figures for August are released by the Commerce Department.
Business inventories figures for July are released by the Commerce Department.

Wednesday, September 15
Import price figures for August are released by the Labor Department.
Industrial production figures for August are released by the Federal Reserve Board.

Thursday, September 16
Initial jobless claims for the week ending Sept. 11 are released by the Labor Department.

Producer prices for August are released by the Labor Department.
The current account surplus or deficit is released by the Commerce Department.

Friday, September 17
Consumer price figures for August are released by the Labor Department.
Preliminary consumer sentiment figures for September are released by the University of Michigan.
