DALLAS - Leigh Ann Biernat, a certified public accountant with 20 years of experience working in state and local government, has joined the Arkansas investment banking firm Stephens Inc. as senior vice president on the public finance team.
Biernat was previously senior vice president of finance and administration for the Little Rock Advertising and Promotion Commission. Before that, she was vice president of finance and administration for the Arkansas Development Finance Authority.
"Leigh Ann brings a wealth of experience in all facets of municipal finance, bond issuance and underwriting, legislation, compliance and regulations," said Dennis Hunt, executive vice president and head of public finance at Stephens. "Many of our clients in Central Arkansas and our staff know Leigh Ann, and we are thrilled to welcome her to our team."
Biernat will work closely with Jack Truemper, also a SVP with the Little Rock-based firm.
Hunt was promoted to head of public finance team in February. He replaced Mark McBryde, who retired after 40 years with the firm.
