Standard & Poor's Ratings Services said it raised its issuer credit rating (ICR) on St. Vrain Valley School District No. RE-1J, Colo.'s general obligation (GO) bonds to AA from AA-minus.
The outlook is stable.
"The higher rating is based on the district's own credit quality, including what we consider its consistent financial performance, supported by very strong available reserves and electorate support providing additional financial flexibility," said Standard & Poor's credit analyst Daniel Zuccarello.
Standard & Poor's also assigned its AA long-term rating, AA issuer credit rating (ICR) and stable outlook to the district's series 2014A GO refunding bonds.
"The AA rating further reflects our view of the district's strong financial management policies and procedures and low-to-moderate overall debt burden," said Zuccarello. Other factors include its: participation in the broad and diverse Boulder County economy, and strong-to-very strong incomes and wealth.
