South Dakota Rated Aaa by Moody's

Moody's Investors Service said it has assigned an initial Aaa issuer rating to the state of South Dakota.

The highest rating reflects high levels of reserves, low fixed costs, stable revenues and an economy that has historically been more stable than the rest of the nation, Moody's said. The outlook is stable.

Moody's maintains Aa1 ratings on South Dakota's lease-appropriation bonds issued through the South Dakota Building Authority and South Dakota Health and Educational Facilities Authority.
