Save Central Falls Library

Supporters of the library in bankrupt Central Falls, R.I. have scheduled a “Save the Library” fundraiser for Sept. 30 to help keep it open.

Volunteers at the Adams Memorial Library reopened the building for 15 hours a week earlier this year after state-appointed receiver Robert Flanders ordered its closure.

The fundraising event will include Celtic music, food and other entertainment, including a silent auction.

Central Falls filed for Chapter 9 protection on Aug. 1 in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Rhode Island in Providence.
