State sales tax collections in Texas last month totaled $1.84 billion, up almost 9% from November 2009. The collections come from retail sales in October.

Comptroller Susan Combs said revenues from the tax, which account for 40% of the state’s general fund budget, continue to beat year-earlier ­projections.
