The tax collection advisory committee and public safety dispatch advisory committee will meet at 1:30 and 2:30 p.m., respectively. Both meetings will be in Room 313 of the state capitol.

The tax panel will hear from state tax administrator David Sullivan about how statewide collection of local taxes might be designed, some pros and cons of such a system, and examples from other states that have implemented this structure, at least partially. The public safety dispatch panel will concentrate on the role of the E-911 uniform emergency telephone system within public safety dispatch operations and functions.

Both groups are scheduled to meet monthly through December.

After Gov. Lincoln Chafee ordered a task force on shared services among Central Falls, Pawtucket and East Providence in 2012, Moody's Investors Service called the move a credit positive for those stressed cities.
