A bill to establish a municipal advisory council on statewide permitting to increase feedback from cities and towns won approval in the Rhode Island Senate with a 37-to-0 vote.

The legislation, sponsored by Sen. V. Susan Sosnowski, D-South Kingstown, calls for the council to consist of five members appointed by the governor. Each member must be an appointed or elected official of a Rhode Island city or town.
