Retail sales grew 2.2% in the week ended December 7, after a 2.1% increase a week earlier, according to the weekly retail sales report released by Johnson Redbook Tuesday.

December was up 2.2% compared to December 2011 (relative to a target of a 2.6% gain), but down 0.2% from November (relative to a target of a 0.2% gain).
