RBC Capital Markets hired Greg Dawley as managing director and manager of municipal finance. Dawley will be based in RBC's Los Angeles office, where he will be covering RBC's California general government, and water and utilities sectors.
As manager of the nine-person Los Angeles office, Dawley will oversee RBC's municipal banking efforts in Southern California and manage the recruitment and development of junior bankers.
"The addition of Greg reflects RBC's on-going commitment to strategically advancing our municipal finance platform in our key geographies and sectors by enhancing our California general government, and water and utilities capabilities to better service our clients," said Bob Spangler, managing director and manager of the West region of municipal finance and the tax credit Equity group at RBC. Spangler will also manage Dawley in his new role.
Dawley has 23 years of municipal finance and governmental experience, having most recently worked as an executive director and manager of Morgan Stanley's Los Angeles public finance office. Earlier in his career, he served as the assistant chief of staff for the Mayor of the City of Los Angeles.
"I'm thrilled to join RBC, a firm with a top municipal business, a commitment to its municipal clients, highly-rated credit products, and first-rate execution," said Dawley.
