Plan to Move NBA Warriors to San Francisco Advances

An early plan to bring build an arena to bring the Golden State Warriors across the bay to San Francisco would cost around $1 billion, according to local reports.

The initial framework of the deal would include San Francisco reimbursing the basketball team $120 million to upgrade the city piers where the new arena would sit, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.

Bonds are a possible method to finance that reimbursement, the report said.

The Warriors would pay for the arena and other construction on the site after getting a 66-year lease.

Earlier this year the Warriors announced a plan to relocate to San Francisco in 2017, leaving their current home in Oakland.
