The region's non-manufacturing sector climbed in March, as the general business conditions index climbed to 48.8 from 46.9 in February, this month's Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia Report on Business indicates.
At the company level, the general business activity index slipped to 44.2 from 51.0.
The prices paid index was 23.3, up from 16.3 last month, new orders index fell to 30.2 from 32.7, sales or revenues decreased to 34.9 from 42.9, the unfilled orders index slid to zero from 8.2, the inventories index declined to 4.7 from 8.2, prices received plunged to 2.3 from 20.4, the number of full time employees index gained to 20.9 from 14.3, the number of part time employees index rose to 25.6 from 24.5, and the average employee workweek grew to 23.3 from 16.3.
The six months from now regional general business conditions index slid to 79.1 from 81.6 in last month's survey, while the company general business conditions index fell to 72.1 from 81.6.
