Philadelphia Fed Non-Mfg Regional Index Falls to 32.5 in Dec.

The region's non-manufacturing sector declined in December, as the general business conditions index slipped to 32.5 from 41.2 in November, this month's Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia Report on Business indicates.

At the company level, the general business activity index rose to 47.5 from 41.2.

The prices paid index was 5.0, down from 23.5 last month, new orders index fell to 25.0 from 29.4, sales or revenues crept to 32.5 from 32.4, the unfilled orders index slipped to 10.0 from 14.7, the inventories index dropped to negative 2.5 from positive 8.8, prices received slumped to 5.0 from 17.6, the number of full time employees index rose to 22.5 from 14.7, the number of part time employees index slid to 15.0 from 35.3, and the average employee workweek fell to 15.0 from 23.5.

The six months from now regional general business conditions index jumped to 90.0 from 76.5 in last month's survey, while the company general business conditions index rose to 72.5 from 64.7.
