PFM Hires Michigan Finance Vet For Ann Arbor Office

CHICAGO - Top-ranked financial advisory firm Public Financial Management Inc. has hired long-time Michigan public finance professional Dale Deis for its Ann Arbor office.

Deis joins the firm from Municipal Financial Consultants Inc., where he worked for his entire career of nearly 30 years, according to PFM. He will be a senior managing consultant at PFM.

"We are extremely pleased to have someone with Dale's municipal finance experience and technical abilities join us," Kari Blanchett, managing director and head of PFM's Michigan practice, said in a statement. "We look forward to having him assist us in bringing our broad range of financial advisory services to better serve new and existing clients throughout the state and the region."

The Ann Arbor office, which is PFM's only Michigan office, now has eight professionals: five in financial advisory and three in asset management with PFM Asset Management LLC. At Municipal Financial Consultants, Deis worked on bond and note deals for Michigan issuers including Wayne and Oakland counties for the last 25 years. He has helped worked on more than 1,500 transactions in Michigan and 145 refunding bond issues totaling $1.15 billion in par value, according to the firm.

Philadelphia-based PFM is financial advisor to Wayne County, Detroit Public Schools, the Michigan Department of Transportation, among others.

The firm ranked first in all financial advisor categories for the first quarter of 2015, according to Thomson Reuters. It finished the first quarter advising on 235 sales with a value of $15.28 billion, for a market share of 18.2%.

PFM was also the leader in the Midwest region in 2014, credited with transactions totaling $8.2 billion.
