Rhode Island Gov. Lincoln Chafee announced that director of policy Brian M. Daniels has agreed to lead the state’s performance management initiative, working with departments and agencies to encourage data-driven decision making.
“Given the scarcity of resources and the mounting challenges in future budgets, state government in Rhode Island must learn to operate more efficiently and effectively,” Chafee said in a statement.
The governor also announced that Kelly Mahoney, now the director of policy for the Rhode Island Department of Administration, will serve in the same capacity in his office.
