People: Deutsche Morgan Grenfell Hires an Economist

A 43-year-old fixed-income economist has joined the global markets department of investment banking firm Deutsche Morgan Grenfell, the firm announced in a statement.

Joseph G. Carson will head the fixed-income economics unit at the firm's New York office to help meet the growing demand for fixed-income business. He will provide research and advice to U.S. domestic fixed-income accounts and will report to Paul Jacobson, head of fixed-income trading in New York, and Stephen Bell, global head of research for the London office, according to the press release.

Carson was previously chief economist at Dean Witter Reynolds Inc.
