Outflows, at $1.71B, Drag on for a 30th Straight Week

Heavy outflows from municipal bond mutual funds persisted, Lipper FMI numbers for the week of Dec. 18 showed.

Muni bond funds that report flows weekly suffered outflows of $1.71, marking a 30th straight week money has left the market. Last week, $1.90 billion fled the market.

Long-term muni bond funds that report flows weekly recorded outflows of $1.02 billion for the week of Dec. 18, against outflows of $1.05 billion the previous week.

Weekly reporting muni bond funds saw outflows of $290 million on the week, from outflows of $425 million last week.
