Obituary - Lawrence C. Jensen

Municipal bond attorney Lawrence C. “Larry” Jensen died this summer.

Mr. Jensen, 78, passed away July 26 at his Portola Valley, Calif., home after a battle with cancer.

His career in municipal finance spanned more than 40 years. It included work at law firms Nixon Peabody and Foley & Lardner.

Mr. Jensen was also a vice president at the financial advisory firm Kelling, Northcross & Nobriga.

Mr. Jensen was raised in Portland, Ore., and graduated from Stanford ­University.

After serving in the Navy, he received his law degree from Harvard Law School.

Family members say Mr. Jensen derived great satisfaction from seeing the results of his professional work in the form of public works projects throughout California.

Mr. Jensen is survived by his son Kent, and two grandsons.

He was predeceased by his wife of 51 years, Helen Jensen, and his son, James.
