The North Texas Tollway Authority last week approved the sale of bonds for Chisholm Trail Parkway in Fort Worth under the agency’s special projects system.
The board also approved a toll equity loan agreement with the Texas Department of Transportation. The $1 billion Chisholm Trail/Southwest Parkway Project is the NTTA’s first tollway in Fort Worth and Tarrant County.
The 27.6-mile tollway will extend south of Tarrant to Johnson County. The NTTA has historically built projects only in Dallas and surrounding counties, primarily to the north. Fort Worth is about 40 miles west of Dallas.
