NEW YORK – The seasonally adjusted Milwaukee Index remained at 58 in August, according to the Institute for Supply Management-Milwaukee.
New orders received rose to 60 from 53, production slid to 55 from 59, employment grew to 64 from 59, supplier deliveries fell to 55 from 61, and backlog of orders slipped to 48 from 50.
Inventory levels rose to 58 from 56, customers’ inventories grew to 44 from 40, prices slumped to 66 from 81, exports declined to 55 from 60 and imports were steady at 57.
