The seasonally adjusted Milwaukee Report on Business rose to 61.77 in February from 58.69 in February, the Institute for Supply Management-Milwaukee reported Friday.
New orders received grew to 65.12 from 62.76, production fell to 64.94 from 69.83, employment increased to 66.91 from 52.48, supplier deliveries climbed to 61.88 from 58.39, and backlog of orders rose to 66.67 from 61.11.
Inventory levels remained at 50.00, customers' inventories dropped to 28.95 from 37.50, prices declined to 79.55 from 81.82, exports slid to 50.00 from 53.57, and imports gained to 63.33 from 61.54.
The blue collar diffusion index rose to 65.3 from 52.5, while the white collar diffusion index increased to 55.4 from 50.2.
