March Revenues Take a Dip

Revenue for March totaled roughly $1.16 billion, down 1.6% compared to March 2007.

The Georgia Revenue Department also reported that year-to-date collections for the current fiscal year are up 1.6% to almost $12.6 billion.

Sales and use taxes totaled $426 million for the month, a 5.4% decrease over March 2007. Also down were individual income taxes, which totaled about $436 million last month, a 2.1% drop.

Year-to-date net sales and use taxes totaled about $4.3 billion, essentially unchanged. Individual income taxes are up 2.5% to $6.2 billion.

Georgia carries rated triple-A credit ratings. Its fiscal year ends June 30.
