A request for proposals is on the commission's website, and responses are due July 10.

Firms are being sought to provide financial advisory services on an ongoing basis in connection with the issuance of state debt.

Qualified firms must be registered municipal advisors with the Securities and Exchange Commission and be listed in the Spring 2014 edition of The Bond Buyer's Municipal Marketplace Directory, among other requirements.

Proposals are expected to be evaluated in July, followed by the formal announcement of the firm selected to negotiate a contract.

The commission plans to enter a one-year contract on Aug. 1, but has the right to approve two, one-year extensions.

Lamont Financial Services has been Louisiana FA since 2011.

The Bond Commission was created in 1968 to oversee and administer state debt. It also reviews and approves debt obligations and the levy of taxes of parishes, municipalities, special taxing districts, and other political subdivisions of the state.
